National Talent Search Examination (NTSE)

Crack NTSE examination and get scholarship for pursuing courses in sciences and social sciences for entire academic career

NTSE is a scholarship examination conducted by NCERT for students of Class X

Purpose of Examination

To identify and nurture the talented students

Notification

Notified by the respective state and it may vary from state to state.

Examination Time

The examination is two-stage. Stage I is conducted by states and stage II is conducted at national level.

  • Stage-I : Generally 1st Sunday of November with slight variation from state to state
  • Stage-II : National Examination in All States and Union Territories: Generally Second Sunday of May

Result

For Stage I it varies from state to state. For Stage II, result is generally declared in last week of July.

Exam Pattern

For both Stage I & II, the examination includes

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT): 50 questions in a duration of 45 minutes
  • Language Test (LT): 50 questions of English Language in a duration of 45 minutes
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): 100 questions of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science and Economics of classes IX and X level in a duration of 90 minutes.
