CAD conducted science seminar at Bijapur, one of the most remote & backward districts of Chhattisgarh for government school children of class VIII-XII. It was a wonderful experience. CAD will continue its efforts to reach out to the most needy.
CAD expresses its gratitude to Shri Abhishek Kumar Singh, Zila Panchayat CEO, an IIT Kanpur Alumnus and other officers of district administration for facilitating the seminar of CAD.
CAD awarded financial assistance of Rs.72,000/- to Jay Kankale and Reetesh Mule, students of Amravati, Maharashtra.
Thanks to the generous contributions made by IIT Kanpur Alumni Yogeshwer Sharma (Y0), Amit Shrivastava (Y0) & Santosh Kumar (Y0), and support provided by IITK alumni Hemant Kumar Meena (Y1), Deputy Conservator of Forest, Amravati, CAD granted Ramanujan Merit-cum-means Scholarship (RMMS) to Jay Kankale, class X student of Shree Ganesh Das Rathi Vidyalaya, Amravati and Reetesh Prashant Mule, Class IX student of Shivaji Multipurpose High School, Amravati selected on the basis of merit-cum-means. Apart from mentoring & personal guidance, these two students will get financial assistance totalling to Rs.72,000/- during their studies upto class XII.
“Society for CREATING A DIFFERENCE – (CAD)”: A journey of promoting science education & research, with the focus on needy & underprivileged students.
CAD is an NGO set up by alumni of IIT Kanpur, Delhi University etc. CAD conducted a seminar-cum-orientation programme at Amravati, Maharashtra on 15th July 2017 for government school students of class VIII-XII. CAD team motivated young minds to pursue a career in science. The CAD team also explained the importance of science education & research and scientific temperament in all domains of life. The response was overwhelming. The aspiring faces of youngsters will serve as great motivation for us to further intensify our efforts for realising the vision of CAD.
During the seminar CAD conducted “Kaun Banega Vaigyanik” Quiz contest and shortlisted 10 students on the basis of their performance. These 10 students are Avishkar Kolte, Reetesh Prashant Mule & Rishikesh Karadbhajane from Shivaji Multipurpose High School; Saie Joshi, Khushi Mantri & Aastha Ajmire from Holy Cross English High School; Jay Kankale & Anamika Kavitkar from Shri Ganesh Das Rathi Vidyalaya; Varad Bodkhe from Gnyan Mata School and Jayshree Dhande from Z P Girls Government High School.
These 10 students were interviewed by the CAD team to select two students for awarding Ramanujan Merit-cum-means Scholarship (RMMS).
